Date of birth and driving licence are conventional on French, German and Spanish CVs. Leave both blank for the US, Canada, the UK and Ireland — age is a protected characteristic there and recruiters are trained to discard CVs that disclose it.

Why these templates pass applicant tracking systems
Most large employers run resumes through applicant tracking software before a person reads them. That software reads a page top to bottom as plain text, so anything clever about the layout works against you. Every template here is built to survive that pass:
- One single column. Two-column resumes get read across the page, which interleaves your job titles with unrelated text.
- No tables, text boxes or graphics. Text inside those elements is frequently dropped entirely.
- Standard section headings — Summary, Experience, Education, Skills — so the parser knows what each block is.
- Real selectable text in the PDF, never an image of text.
Writing bullet points that get read
A recruiter spends seconds on a first pass, so lead each line with a verb and finish with a result. "Rebuilt the checkout flow, cutting cart abandonment 18%" tells them more than "Responsible for checkout." Put a number in wherever you honestly can — revenue, percentage, headcount, time saved. Skip the number rather than invent one.
Should I put a photo on my CV?
It depends entirely on where you are applying. In France, Germany, Spain and Italy a professional headshot is conventional and its absence can look odd. In the United States, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Sweden and Finland you should leave it off: employers there actively discourage photos to reduce discrimination claims, and some will discard a photo CV before reading it. The European template above places the photo in the top-right corner of a single-column layout. That matters, because the usual way to fit a photo is a sidebar — and in published testing, two-column and sidebar layouts failed in seven of eight applicant tracking systems, with sidebar content dropped outright by four of them. Keeping one column means the photo costs you nothing in parsing.
Is this really free?
Yes. There is no account, no trial, no watermark and no paywall on the download. Your resume is built in your browser and never sent to a server, so we could not see your work history even if we wanted to. The site is paid for by ads.
